The IRS agent at the Chicago tax workshop said something that split me in half
At a free IRS workshop last fall in Chicago, the speaker said home office deductions are a red flag for audits but also the biggest missed write-off for solopreneurs. Half the room said claim it anyway, the other half said no way. Which side are you on?

Got to say I'm on the claim it side. My accountant told me the same thing last year - he said auditors mostly look for people making stuff up, not folks with a real dedicated space. Been claiming mine for two years now with no issues, just keep good records and you're fine.
