That time I tried working through a fever from my kitchen table in Portland

Last January I came down with a bad flu but had a deadline for a landscaping plan I promised by Friday. I sat there with a bowl of soup and my laptop, trying to mark up tree placements between shivers. After 3 hours I realized I had mislabeled half the species and had to redo it the next day anyway. Has anyone found a good way to tell when you are too sick to keep going so you don't waste more time?

Laid out flat on the bathroom floor with a trash can is usually my sign that work can wait. Learned that one the hard way too.

Have you tried setting a "mistake limit" before you start? Once I make the same error three times in a row I know my brain is done for the day.
