Found my grandma's old recipe box filled with 1950s space saving tricks

I was cleaning out my attic last weekend and stumbled upon my grandma's recipe box from the 1950s, and she had a whole section on how to fold fitted sheets into perfect little squares. What surprised me was the math she did on how much drawer space a family of four could save by doing this one trick - 3 inches per drawer times 8 drawers equals 2 feet of extra room. Has anyone else found old organizing advice that actually works better than the modern stuff?

Oh wow, that's actually brilliant. My grandma had a similar chart for stacking tupperware that saved me a whole cabinet shelf. Those old school hacks are just better because they were tested by real people who had to make do with less.

That's exactly it, people had to actually make things work with what they had back then. Plus their tips were passed down through generations of trial and error, not some influencer who just bought a label maker.

Heck, my "hack" is just hoping the tupperware lid I grab actually fits something.
