The storage bin stack that collapsed at a house showing in Denver

I was staging a condo and stacked 12 of those plastic bins six high to make room. The whole thing came down on me during open house setup, and the owner laughed and asked if I needed a chiropractor. I still use bins, but now I never go above three high, no matter how tempting it looks. Anyone else had a tower of savers betray them?

Six bins is exactly where mine went sideways too, but it was in my garage and nobody was there to laugh at me. The whole stack just tipped like a slow motion domino and I spent an hour picking up Christmas decorations that were everywhere. My back was sore for two days after that, so I totally get the chiropractor joke, even if it stung. I have a hard rule now that anything above three high has to be against a wall or it just doesn't happen. Honestly, it's not worth the rush of saving a little floor space when you know it's gonna come crashing down on you.

Used to stack bins to the ceiling without a second thought, figured the whole point of plastic tubs was to ignore gravity. Then my own tower of doom wobbled in the hallway and I did that panicked grab where you just hug the whole thing while it slowly peels apart. Took me twenty minutes to re-sort everything and I threw out my shoulder pulling a bin off the top. Now I count to three like it's some sacred rule and anything higher gets shoved against the wall or stays on the floor. Lesson learned the hard way, but at least now when I see other people's stacks I just smile and back away slowly.
