One client said my emails were too robotic and it changed everything
Tbh I was using the same templates for months and never thought about it. A client told me my messages sounded like an automated system not a real person. So I started adding one personal detail per email like something from their website or a previous chat. Has anyone else had feedback that made you redo your whole workflow?

Personal touches just add more work for less return.

@nancyramirez I used to think the same thing until I started doing small custom touches for my regulars. It's actually less work over time because they keep coming back and you get to know exactly what they want. A handwritten note or remembering someone's favorite color takes two seconds but makes people feel like you actually care. The return on that little bit of effort is huge compared to the generic stuff. Give it a shot with just one or two people and see what happens.

I remember reading somewhere that people can tell within a few sentences if an email is a template or written for them. That one personal detail thing really does make a difference, even just mentioning something specific from their last email.
