Tracked every minute of my workday for a week and realized I spent 40% of it on things that paid zero
I always thought I was just slow at design work, but the numbers showed I was doing free revisions and admin tasks nobody asked for. For me it was the clock that caught it, what made you finally see where your time was really going?

I used to be one of those people who said "time tracking is for micromanagers" and refused to do it. But then I had a month where I worked 70 hour weeks and still felt behind on everything. A friend made me try it for just 3 days and I was SHOCKED at how much time I wasted on emails that could have been a 2 minute chat. The numbers don't lie and they showed me I was spending almost a third of my day on stuff that literally didn't matter. It changed my whole view on planning my day now because I actually see where the hours go.

The real trick is tracking your energy, not your time.

Wait, does that mean I have to admit my entire morning is just me staring at spreadsheets?
