Picked the $200 coworking membership over my home office for 3 months and now I can't focus without background noise
I figured my home setup would save me cash but the constant laundry pile staring at me made me choose the loud coffee shop vibe, and now I'm weirdly productive with strangers chatting - has anyone else paid more to work somewhere slightly inconvenient just to trick your brain into focusing?

@ray613 is right but honestly the laundry pile gave me more focus than any background noise ever did.

Are you telling me my dirty laundry isn't the secret productivity hack I've been missing? Guess I'll just have to keep buying overpriced coffee to escape my own mess.

Real talk, I did the exact same thing last year. Swapped my home desk for a $150 month spot with terrible chairs and it worked because I had to physically leave my apartment to get anything done. The trick is getting a cheap noise app like Noisli or just running a "coffee shop sounds" playlist on YouTube. Then you can recreate that background buzz at home and cancel the membership after a month or two.
