Did you actually feel like you were undervaluing your work before she said that, or was it more of a random suggestion? I get that raising rates can feel right in some cases, but it's also easy to price yourself out if you dont have a solid client base yet. Ive seen people jump from $50 to $80 an hour overnight and then wonder why their regulars ghost them. Sometimes that kind of advice comes from a good place but doesnt really fit your specific situation.

Tess, $50 to $80 overnight is a wild jump, that's asking to lose people. Usually if the advice fits you just know, but most of the time it's just someone projecting their own hustle onto you.
