Why does nobody talk about how $50 smart plugs can nuke your WiFi?
Bought a 4 pack of cheap smart plugs for my home office lights last week, cost me $50 total. The moment I plugged them in my router started dropping signal like crazy, had to reset it 3 times before I figured out the plugs were the problem. Took 2 hours of troubleshooting and a factory reset to get my internet back stable. Has anyone else had cheap IoT gear destroy their network like this?

Honestly check the 2.4GHz band settings on your router fixed it for me.

@morganl71 Did you just set channel width lower or swap to b/g only?

Yeah the "just set channel width lower" part got me. My buddy tried that exact fix last month, dropped his 2.4GHz width from 40MHz to 20MHz and it was like night and day. His whole house stopped dropping the wifi every time someone walked in the kitchen.
