Crossed 50 repeat clients and it totally changed how I think about referrals
Everyone says new clients are the lifeblood of a business, but hitting 50 repeat clients last quarter showed me the opposite is true for me. My average project size jumped 30% because repeat folks don't haggle and they already trust my pace. Has anyone else seen a bigger shift from loyal clients than from chasing fresh leads?

My dog walking business went from 30 to 80 regulars last year and I stopped chasing new leads altogether. Those repeat clients brought in 3 friends each on average, way better than any ad I ran.

I had the exact same thing happen with my landscaping side gig... went from about 25 lawns a week to 60 just from word of mouth. One customer, this guy named Dave, told three of his neighbors about me and now I do all their yards every Thursday. Another lady from the dog park mentioned me to her book club and suddenly I had five new clients in one week. Ads on Facebook barely got me a single call, but one happy person talking to their friends is worth way more than any paid promotion I ever ran.

Totally agree with this. Ditto for me with my freelance graphic design work. Once I got past 30 or so repeat clients, the whole game changed. They don't ask for discounts, they just send me briefs and trust I'll nail it. It's wild how much easier the work gets when you already know their brand voice and what they hate. Plus every time I finish a project for one of them, they almost always send someone else my way within a week. It feels like a snowball effect that doesn't slow down. Honestly I stopped running any paid ads over a year ago, just focusing on keeping those core people happy.
