I used to give 3 free revisions before I learned my lesson

Back when I started freelancing last year, I let clients ask for unlimited changes. One guy in Dallas made me redo his logo 8 times before he ghosted me. Now I charge $40 per extra revision after the first two, and I put it right in the contract. Has anyone else had a client take advantage of free revisions like that?

Yo how many rounds do you usually include in your contracts now? I cap mine at 2 major revisions too, but I also put a hard deadline on them like "must submit revision requests within 5 days of delivery" so clients can't drag it out for weeks. Saved my sanity more than the extra cash honestly. You're smart to put it in the contract though, I learned that one the hard way too after getting screwed by a client who thought "unlimited" meant they could keep tweaking forever.

Wait unlimited revisions were actually in the contract?

Oh man, unlimited revisions are a nightmare waiting to happen! @the_ben's point about the 5 day deadline is genius though, I never thought to pair it with a cap like that to stop clients from dragging things out forever.
