That cheap logo I redesigned for free last month taught me a $500 lesson

I used to just take whatever low paying logo gigs came my way because I was scared to say no. Last month a guy in Dallas paid me $50 for a logo, then asked for 14 revisions over 3 weeks. I finally told him no more changes unless he paid my full rate of $500. He actually said 'fine' and paid it, no argument. Now I offer a basic package with 2 revisions and a premium one with unlimited changes. Has anyone else noticed that clients who pay more actually respect your time better?

Man, that line about clients who pay more respecting your time better hit me right in the gut. I had almost the exact same thing happen with a local coffee shop owner, charged him like 75 bucks for a menu redesign and he wanted 10 revisions over two weeks. Finally told him I was done unless he paid my real rate and suddenly he was like "oh okay, no problem." It's wild how that works, like the price tag itself makes people behave differently. I think it's because when they pay peanuts they see you as a pushover, but when they pay real money they suddenly remember you're a professional with boundaries. That basic vs premium package thing you got going on sounds smart too, I might steal that idea.

Exactly this. Price literally changes how people treat you. Wild how that works.

Told my friend the same thing. He stopped taking cheap jobs and started making real money.
