Remember when we used to print out invoices and mail them?

I was cleaning out my desk drawer this morning and found a stack of those old triplicate invoice books from like 2014. Back then I had a whole system - carbon paper, envelopes, stamps, even a little scale to weigh them. Now everything is just a link in an email or a Stripe button. Kind of miss the ritual of it, weirdly. My landlord still wants a paper check though, so not totally free yet. Has anyone else kept any old habits from the pre-digital freelancer days?

Oh man, I still have a box of those triplicate invoice books under my bed. Every time I move I swear I'm gonna throw them out but then I think "what if the internet goes down and I need to bill someone for a giant paperweight I hand deliver?" My handwriting is so bad that clients probably would have paid me just to avoid having to read it.

Having a backup plan for the end of the world feels more REASONABLE every year. At least your handwriting would match the chaos.
