He was a web designer complaining about slow months, and it hit me that I do the same thing - just fire off bids and hope. Just last month I followed up on a furniture order that was "processing" for two weeks, and magically it shipped the next day after I asked. People are busy and things slip through the cracks, so a gentle nudge is almost always appreciated if you're not being pushy about it. I've learned the hard way that being quiet and patient just means you get forgotten, while the squeaky wheel actually gets the grease most of the time.
