Hot take: stop sending invoices at the end of the month, try Wednesday morning instead
I used to always batch my invoices on the last Friday of each month. Kept waiting 30+ days for payments from my landscaping clients in Austin. Last month I switched to sending them out every Wednesday at 9am local time. Got 3 checks in the mail within 5 business days instead of the usual 3 weeks. Something about catching people midweek when they're actually looking at their books instead of scrambling on a Friday. Has anyone else tried timing their sends to a specific day and seen a difference?

Fiona's right about bookkeepers preferring Fridays, but Wednesday hits small business owners differently.

That's not quite right about Friday scrambling - most bookkeepers I know actually do their deep work on Friday mornings when the week's chaos settles down. Wednesday morning works better because payroll people have already pushed through Tuesday's deposits and have time to look at new invoices.

3 checks in 5 days is solid proof. I think a big part is that Wednesday hits that sweet spot between Monday panic and Friday checkout. People are in work mode but not drowning yet. Plus if you invoice on a Wednesday and they approve it, it usually gets queued into the next payment run which can hit as early as Friday instead of waiting for the next month's cycle.
