Just wasted $85 on a mileage tracking app that double-counted half my drives

I picked up MileageIQ last month after hearing good things, but it kept logging the same trips twice when I went to the same coffee shop twice in one day. By the time I noticed, I had over 400 extra miles on my log that would have gotten me in trouble if I actually used them. Has anyone else had this issue with a tracker and found one that actually works right?

...and that's exactly what happened with me and QuickBooks Self-Employed a while back. I was trying to be all efficient tracking my drives for my side gig, and it kept lumping a trip to the post office with a separate trip to the client's house as one long drive. I ended up with this weird 80-mile monster that made zero sense. I swear these apps just can't handle the real world where you stop for gas or coffee on the way. I ended up going back to a literal notebook in my glovebox, it's the only thing that hasn't screwed me over.

You saying "I ended up going back to a literal notebook in my glovebox" is exactly where I'm at now. I used to think apps were just better and more reliable than pen and paper, but after dealing with the same double-counting nonsense, I finally get it. My notebook has never once logged a fake drive, so I guess the old way wins.

Stick with the notebook honestly. Tech fails more often than it helps with stuff like this.
