That $40 email marketing tool that double-billed me for 6 months

Signed up for a cheap email platform last January to send newsletters for my side gig. They had a $40 a month plan that looked perfect. I didn't notice they added a second account charge until I reviewed my bank statements this week. That little mistake cost me $240 total and I'm still trying to get a refund. Anyone else gotten burned by auto-renewals or hidden fees on these tools?

Did your buddy ever get that money back? My friend got stuck with a similar situation on a scheduling tool - charged $60 a month for a year before he caught it. He told me the support team made him jump through hoops and he never got a full refund. @casey342 you're totally right, the signup is way too easy but canceling feels like pulling teeth.

Man I heard a story just like this on a podcast the other day. This guy found charges from a software he forgot he even signed up for like TWO years ago. The app charged him for a premium plan he never used. And these companies make it SO hard to cancel too. Like, you can sign up in three clicks but to cancel you gotta email support and wait three days. $240 is a lot of money to just lose on a mistake like that. I honestly feel like these platforms do it on purpose hoping you won't notice.
