That co-working space in Denver had everyone using the same headphones

I stopped by a co-op space in Denver last Thursday to meet a friend for coffee, and I swear every single person at those long tables had Sony XM5s on. Not even a mix of brands, just rows of the same grey cans. It got me wondering if there's some group buy deal I missed or if we all just silently agreed this is the go-to for blocking out open office chaos. Has anyone else walked into a shared space and noticed everyone's using the exact same gear?

oh man, I've seen this exact thing at a few different co-working spots. honestly it's probably just that the xm5s are the safest bet if you're gonna be in an open space all day. the anc is just really consistent and they're comfortable for hours. if you want something less obvious but still good, maybe check out the soundcore Q30 or something, they're way cheaper and do the job fine for background chatter.

Yeah exactly! @hernandez.gavin nailed it with the Q30 suggestion. I've got a pair and they're solid for drowning out the low hum of an AC unit or people typing nearby. The only catch is the build quality feels a bit cheap compared to the Sonys, but for the price you can't beat it. Another good option is the Anker Life Q20, they're even cheaper and the battery lasts forever. Honestly most people in a co-working space aren't gonna care what you're wearing anyway.

wait but do you actually notice a big difference between the Anker and the Sony when it comes to blocking out people talking? like the hum is one thing but voices are totally different
