Found a co-working hack that cut my cafe spending by 60%
I started booking library meeting rooms through Toronto's free reservation system instead of buying coffee at Starbucks for 5 hours of work. My monthly cafe tab dropped from $200 to about $80 in the first month alone. Anyone else use public spaces to dodge the coffee shop markup?

Got a buddy who started working out of his local library's reading room. Said he saved enough in three months to buy a new monitor.

Man I actually went the opposite way and started going to a hotel lobby near my place. They got this big lounge area off the main entrance with outlets everywhere and nobody bothers you if you buy a coffee from the cafe there once. It's like $4 for a latte and I just nurse it for three hours. Saved a ton not buying a muffin and sandwich every time I got hungry at Starbucks too.

A friend of mine tried the library thing too. She went to this old Carnegie library downtown with these huge reading tables and quiet nooks. She said it was great until she spilled her thermos of soup on a stack of local history books. Now she's banned from three branches and works out of a Panica bread where the wifi is free but they keep the AC cranked so low she has to wear a winter coat in July.
