Kinda miss the days of meeting clients for coffee to talk shop
I was thinking back to when I started freelancing in 2015 and every new project started with a sit down at a cafe somewhere near Yonge and Bloor. Now everything is Zoom calls and quick emails. Back then youd get a real feel for the person over 45 minutes and a latte. Has anyone else noticed the whole vibe of landing work changed that much in like 8 years?

My first client meeting was at a Starbucks and I spilled my drink all over their proposal.

Did you even try to dry it off with napkins before handing it over? I swear, Starbucks napkins are basically paper towels that disintegrate instantly. That's rough though @iris_barnes87. Did the client laugh it off or did they sit there all tight-lipped while you're fumbling with wet papers?

The Starbucks napkin incident reminds me of when I was at a restaurant and the waitress accidentally dropped a whole pitcher of water on our table. Papers everywhere, laptop soaked, and everyone just froze for a second. Sometimes you just have to laugh it off and hope the client has a good sense of humor about it.
