Picked a local hardware store over Home Depot for my siding job and saved $80

I needed cedar siding for a garage in Austin, and after pricing both, the mom-and-pop shop matched the quality but threw in free delivery which the big box wanted $80 for so that made the decision easy, anyone else see better deals from the smaller guys?

Wait, didn't I just see a study that said local hardware stores give better service like 80% of the time lol? That free delivery alone makes the deal way better than just the eighty bucks though. Small places gotta earn your business so they bundle stuff like that while big box just nickel and dimes you.

Are we really acting like 80 bucks is a life-changing amount?

Wait, is it just life-changing for me then? I used to be all "whatever, it's just money" but honestly, eighty bucks is like a week of groceries for me or a tank of gas and then some. I mean, I get that it's not gonna buy you a house or anything, but for a lot of people that's real money, especially right now with everything being so expensive. Idk, maybe I'm just too focused on the small stuff, but I swear I'd notice if I saved that much on one purchase.
