A stranger on this forum pointed out my home page was all 'me' not 'you'
I rewrote my whole home page after someone said it read like a resume instead of a solution for visitors. Lead generation went up about 30% in the first month after the change. Has anyone else had a similar overhaul from a simple piece of feedback?

Did I really think my homepage was for me? I used to believe it should show off everything I could do, like a trophy case. Then someone basically said "so what?" and I realized they were right. I switched from listing my services to talking about the problems people come to me with. It felt weird at first, but once I saw how much more people actually reached out, I couldn't ignore it. A small nudge from a stranger can really flip your whole approach around.

I made the SAME mistake with my own site for about two years. A mentor told me to replace my "I do X, Y, and Z" list with just three sentences about the problem people hire me to fix. The calls doubled almost overnight and I felt like an idiot for not doing it sooner.

Man, that hits close to home. It’s wild how one honest comment can shake you out of your own blind spot like that.
