Before-and-after test: I moved my CTA button from top left to top right and conversions jumped 22% in 3 weeks

I tweaked that one button location last month and suddenly people are actually clicking through. Did you guys see bigger changes from button placement or from rewriting the text around it?

Read something the other day that said people scan websites in an F shape, top to bottom, left to right. So if your CTA was top left it might've been getting skipped over because folks already scanned past it before their eyes landed on the button. Top right is where you look when you're done reading and ready to act. I tested this myself with a landing page I manage - moved the sign up button from the bottom center to top right and saw a 15% lift in two weeks. Copy changes barely moved the needle for me either. Feels like placement is the hidden lever nobody wants to admit matters more than the fancy words.

Moved my button from the bottom to the top right once. Conversions went up 12%. Then I moved it again and they dropped 8%. Pretty sure I just confuse my visitors for fun. Text changes matter too but man, placement hits different. Rewrote my CTA copy five times once and got nothing. Moved the button six inches and bam. Actually embarrassing how long it took me to test this. I was just guessing before. Like throwing darts blindfolded. Your 22% jump is impressive. I'd probably accidentally delete the button entirely and blame the algorithm. Location matters more than people think. We overthink the words and ignore where they sit.
