Parallax scroll sold my site, but broke my bounce rate. What gives?
I found out last week from my analytics that adding a fancy parallax hero cut my bounce rate by 18%, yet my actual inquiries dropped by 4 because people scrolled past the contact button. Is flashy design really winning if it buries the action, or should I just kill the effect and go boring grid? Has anyone else seen this split between looks and conversions?

Wait, you LOST inquiries by 4 because people scrolled right past the contact button? That's wild! Your bounce rate got better, sure, but what's the point of people sticking around if they're not actually doing the thing you want them to do? That's like a store where everyone walks around longer but nobody buys anything. The parallax is basically a pretty distraction, and your numbers are proving it. Kill the effect, bring back the boring grid, and see if your inquiries climb back up. Trust the action over the flash.
