Wasted 8 months trusting Google PageSpeed Insights over real user data

I kept tweaking my portfolio layout to get a 95+ score, but actual visitors in Chicago were still bouncing after 10 seconds. They simulate a middle range phone on a slow connection but your Chicago visitors might be on fiber with a brand new iPhone. So tweaking for a 95 score was probably chasing numbers that don't match what people actually experience. Real user monitoring like heatmaps or Core Web Vitals from Chrome User Experience Report gives you the actual loading times and interaction delays your visitors face. That data is way more useful for figuring out why people bounce because it captures their specific network and hardware.
