My wife called my home office a 'glorified closet' and she was right

I've been working from home for about 4 years now and I thought my setup was fine. Had a desk in the corner of the spare room with a lamp and a chair. Then my wife walked in one day and just said 'this looks like a closet with a desk in it.' At first I was annoyed but then I looked around and saw what she meant. No natural light, cables everywhere, and the paint was this gross beige from the previous owner. So I spent a weekend painting the walls a light gray and moved my desk right next to the window. Also got a cheap cable sleeve kit from Amazon for like $12. Now I actually want to sit in there and work. Has anyone else had a partner call out something obvious you were ignoring?

My wife called my car "smelled like old fries." I was driving in a garbage can.

People don't realize how easy it is to go nose blind to your own stuff. You're in that car every single day, so your brain just filters out the smell. But then someone else gets in and it hits them like a wall. It's the same with houses too, you know? You could have a sweaty gym bag in the corner for a week and not notice, but a guest will smell it in 5 seconds.

Nah, I honestly think most people are just being dramatic and your car probably smells fine lol.
