Took me way too long to figure out what 'filler' actually meant in anime

When I first got into anime, I kept hearing people complain about filler arcs but I thought it just meant episodes that weren't very good. It wasn't until I binged Naruto and hit like 80 episodes in a row of random side missions that I realized it meant stuff not from the manga. Took me about 3 weeks of confusion before my buddy Steve finally set me straight. Anyone else have a dumb anime term they misunderstood for way longer than they'd like to admit?

I was paying $8 a month for the basic Crunchyroll plan for like 2 years straight never thought about it. Then I saw they had a yearly option for $99 and did the math that saves me like $3 a month not huge but still. I pulled the trigger back in January and honestly it's nice not having that monthly charge pop up. Has anyone else switched to yearly and found it worth it or do you prefer month to month?

I always watched subbed because everyone said subs are the only way to get the real experience. But last week I caught a clip of the English dub on YouTube and realized I missed so many little background jokes and character moments because I was busy reading. My buddy told me he's watched the whole show dubbed and still loves it. Now I'm wondering if I should switch or if it's too late after 300 episodes. Anyone else go through this debate?

It hit different because I realized we're all just trying to enjoy the same stories, and gatekeeping the audio track is dumb. Started watching a 90-episode anime this month and got burned out by episode 12

I thought I could binge that long running shonen series everyone raves about, but by episode 12 my brain just checked out. Same fight scenes, same power-ups, same yelling. Did I miss some hidden gem in the middle episodes or is it all just filler until the last arc? How do you guys actually finish these 200+ episode shows without losing your mind?

Just watched an episode from last year where a guy literally hovered in midair to kick someone 6 times. No gravity, no momentum, nothing. Compare that to something like the sword duel in the 2018 OVA where every swing had weight behind it. The animators actually showed the character's feet sliding on the ground when he took a hit. He made it about three feet before he completely lost his balance and slid face-first into the leg of my coffee table. He just sat there for a second looking totally confused.
