Can we talk about how a guy at the Dayton mall convinced me to give a 200 episode show a real shot
I was at a small meetup in Dayton about 8 months ago and a guy named Dave kept telling me to push past the opening arc of One Piece because it gets way better. I brushed him off for months since 200 episodes felt like a huge time sink and I mostly watch shorter stuff. Back in March I finally gave it 40 episodes and hit a wall around episode 30, but then the Arlong Park arc hit and I got it. Dave was right about that part but he undersold how long the good stretches take to arrive and how many slow arcs sit between them. I'm at episode 120 now and some nights I'd rather rewatch a tight 12 episode show than grind another block. For people who stuck it out, did you hit a point where the pacing stopped bugging you or did you just push through?
