Had to choose between sub or dub for One Piece, picked the wrong one
I got into One Piece back in April and had to decide between the sub and the dub. I went with the dub because I like multitasking while watching, but after 200 episodes I realized the dub is like 4 years behind. Now I have to switch to sub and relearn all the voices, and it's messing with the whole vibe. Has anyone else had to make this call halfway through a long runner?

Had a buddy who did this with Naruto. He watched 400 episodes dubbed before realizing Shippuden wasn't fully dubbed yet. He tried switching to sub but said Naruto's Japanese voice was too high pitched for him. Ended up just reading episode summaries online and skipping to the dub releases.

Actually I gotta gently correct something there. The original Naruto series has 220 episodes and Shippuden has 500, so watching 400 dubbed episodes would mean he was deep into Shippuden before realizing it wasn't fully dubbed. Maybe he meant he watched 40 episodes of Shippuden dubbed or something like that. Either way, that high pitched Naruto voice is definitely a common complaint. I remember trying the sub after watching some Bleach dubbed and Ichigo's Japanese voice sounded way too young for me at first.

Man I feel your pain. I did the exact opposite with Hunter x Hunter - started sub then switched to dub around episode 80 because I was sick of reading subtitles during fights. Then I realized the dub voices for Gon and Killua sound like they're trying too hard to be cute. Took me like 30 episodes to stop cringing every time someone talked.

Stick with the sub and never look back. Once you go original voices you can't unhear the awkward dubs. It takes too long to adapt to bad voice acting.
