Heard a guy at the coffee shop say he binged 12 episodes of Frieren in one sitting last Tuesday
That just clicked something for me. I've been slogging through shows at 1 episode a night and missing the whole flow. Last weekend I sat down and watched 8 straight episodes of Dungeon Meshi and caught so many little callbacks I'd have missed otherwise. Anyone else find they enjoy shows way more when you commit to a bigger chunk at once?

Dude, that Dark point is spot on. I tried watching that show week by week and gave up after 3 episodes cause I had no clue what was happening. There's definitely a line though between shows that reward binging and ones where it doesn't matter. Like, do you think stuff like slow burn dramas or character driven shows actually lose something if you speed through them? I feel like some things need time to sit in your head, not just get consumed all at once.

Right, that's exactly what I've been thinking. Binging really does let you pick up on all those little details the writers hid for people paying attention. Which shows do you think actually NEED that kind of focused watching to be good, versus the ones that are fine to just pop in and out of?

Drop everything you're doing and watch Dark on Netflix in one weekend. @sethm58 That show is impossible to follow if you take a week off between episodes. You'll forget which version of the character you were supposed to be keeping track of.
