I watched 12 episodes of a show at 1.5x speed and now I'm wondering if I ruined it for myself
So I had a stack of shows piling up and figured I'd speed through one at 1.5x just to clear the backlog. It was a slower slice of life thing and honestly by episode 12 I couldn't tell you what anyone's voice actually sounded like. The weird part is I still teared up at the ending, so the story landed even if the pacing felt like a speedrun. Now I'm torn on whether to rewatch it at normal speed or if I already burned the experience. Anyone else mess with playback speed and regret it?
By episode 12 you couldn't remember their voices, that's the tell right there. The ending still got you because most slice of life shows land on the big moments, and those moments are written to hit you even if you skipped half the pauses. But the pauses ARE the show. Those little scenes where nothing happens and two people just sit there? That's where the characters actually become people to you. You didn't ruin anything though, you just watched the cliff notes version. Rewatch it at normal speed in a few months and it'll feel like a whole different show, not a repeat.
