Just found out how many episodes of One Piece aired before I was even born

I was looking up some old filler arcs on a wiki and saw the start date for the anime. It began in 1999. I was born in 2002. So by the time I was a kid, there were already over 200 episodes out. It's wild to think the show was three years deep before I even existed. I guess I never really did the math before. Has anyone else had a moment like that with a long-running series?

It's not just about shows or wrestling. You see it with music and tech too. My cousin's kid asked what a CD was the other day. It's a constant reminder that the world moves fast and what was normal for us is ancient history to them. It's a weird feeling when your own past becomes a trivia question.

Yeah, the "before I even existed" part got me. My buddy was watching some old wrestling clips with his nephew. The kid saw Stone Cold Steve Austin and asked who the "old angry man" was. My friend had to explain that Austin was the biggest star when he was in middle school. The kid just could not get his head around the fact that the show was huge before he was born. It was a real trip watching that happen.
