Just noticed how Subaru in Re:Zero always uses the same loop tricks I do in RPGs
I was rewatching Re:Zero last night and realized his whole thing about checking the mansion for clues first before talking to anyone is basically what I do in Fire Emblem with save states... He even saves specific items like the handkerchief for later loops. Has anyone else noticed these game logic parallels in other anime?

Oh TOTALLY, I've been saying this for ages! The way he keeps the handkerchief and uses it in different loops is exactly how I hoard rare items in Pokemon until I know the RIGHT moment to use them. What really clicked for me was when I played Persona 5 and realized I was doing the same time reset thing - I'd reload a save if I wasted a day in the palace instead of talking to Confidants. Subaru basically speedruns his own life, figuring out the most efficient route through dialogue trees and boss fights. It's actually genius how the show makes dying feel like a game mechanic instead of just trauma porn.

Yeah, @viola_garcia56 hit it perfectly with the speedrun comparison. The real trick Subaru learns is knowing when to skip content entirely, same way you'd skip a side quest if it wastes time in a loop.
