Just realized sorting my watchlist by studio made me finish way more shows
I had over 50 anime on my 'plan to watch' list and kept bouncing around, never finishing anything. Last month I tried grouping them by the animation studio instead of just genre. Focusing on just Kyoto Animation stuff first, I knocked out 3 full series in two weeks because the style felt consistent. Has anyone else tried organizing their backlog in a weird way that actually clicked?

Grouping by studio would just make me notice the same flaws over and over.

But what if that's the whole point? Like, you watch three Marvel movies in a row and you finally see how every third act is just a big CGI sky beam. Or you binge a bunch of A24 stuff and the quiet, sad endings start to feel like a formula. Grouping them forces you to see the patterns, good and bad. It makes you a smarter watcher, even if it gets annoying.

Mix in a comedy or documentary to break it up.
