My friend swore by watching anime at 1.5x speed and I finally tried it
My buddy Mike from the local anime club kept saying I was wasting time by watching at normal speed. He said he catches the same plot points and the action scenes still look smooth. Last week I gave it a shot on a 26-episode show I was rewatching anyway. I finished the whole thing in like 16 hours instead of 22 and honestly I didn't miss anything important. The fight scenes felt a tiny bit weird at first but my brain adjusted after three episodes. Has anyone else tried this trick or does it ruin the vibe for you?

Three episodes in and your brain already adjusted? That's the problem right there. You're training your brain to process everything faster and that's gonna mess with how you experience normal paced stuff later. I've seen people who speed up everything and then they cant sit through a regular movie without getting bored.

@martinez.paul, have you actually tried it yourself or just guessing?

Honestly, Paul's got a point. I tried watching a movie with my buddy who does this and he was literally tapping his foot the whole time, kept pausing to check his phone. It's like you're rewiring your brain to need that constant fast pace.
