Pro tip: I started watching anime with Japanese subs and noticed a huge difference after 2 weeks
I used to always watch dubbed shows because I thought reading subtitles would be distracting. But my friend kept pushing me to try subbed for the original voice acting. After about 15 episodes of Attack on Titan in Japanese with subs, I realized the emotion in the voices was way stronger. The yelling and crying felt realer than the English versions I was used to. Has anyone else felt this shift after switching over for a bit?

Whoa, slow down. It's just a cartoon, not that deep. I get that the voice acting might be better but let's be real, you're not missing some life changing experience watching one version over the other. People act like subs unlocked a secret level of storytelling or something.

Have you tried just watching the first episode of the sub version to see if it clicks for you? I used to feel the same way until I gave a subbed anime a real chance on a rainy weekend, and honestly it changed how I experienced the whole show. Sometimes it's just about finding the right story where the original voices REALLY make the characters feel more real.

Yeah @tessalane you're totally wrong here, I had the SAME experience with One Piece and it was a huge upgrade.
