Rant: I finally turned off subs and watched Cowboy Bebop dubbed, and honestly the dub won for me
I always told people subs were the only real way to watch anime, mostly because a guy in my Discord server back in 2019 acted like dubs were a crime. So for like 5 straight years I read every line of Cowboy Bebop, then finally tried the English track on a lazy Sunday. Turns out I caught way more of the background gags and facial acting because my eyes weren't glued to the bottom third of the screen, and Spike's dry jokes actually landed for me. I'm not saying dubs win across the board, but for a show this moody I think the sub did me dirty for way too long. Anyone else flip on this after years of being a sub snob, or is it just me?
Cowboy Bebop's dub has been out since 2001 and you seriously spent five years reading it because some guy in a Discord server acted like dubs were a crime? That is wild to me. The English cast is genuinely great and you robbed yourself blind for half a decade over a random internet dude's hot take.
