Rant: The Crunchyroll app crashed during the final episode of my favorite show

I was watching the season finale of this anime I've been binging for two weeks. Right at the climax, the app froze and then kicked me out. I tried reloading three times but it kept bugging out on my Fire Stick. Has anyone else had the app fail at the worst possible moment like this?

Buddy of mine had the same thing happen with a Fire Stick on the last episode of Attack on Titan. App crashed right when Eren was doing his thing and he just sat there staring at the black screen for a solid minute. He ended up having to clear the cache and reinstall the whole app before it would work again. Felt his pain from across town, man.

I used to be that guy who didn't clear the cache for anything. Figured it was overblown, you know? But reading how your buddy just sat there frozen, staring at that black screen after Eren's big moment, that hits different. I had the exact same thing with my Roku during the final season of Breaking Bad. App froze right when Walt was in the garage, and I just sat there like a morgan freeman voiceover moment. Had to unplug the whole damn thing and do a factory reset. Never doubted cache clearing since. It's like these streaming apps know exactly when to screw you over.

A quick tip that's saved my sanity more than once - clear the cache before you even start a series finale. Just do it while you're grabbing snacks, takes thirty seconds tops. Streaming apps get bloated fast and they always pick the worst moments to choke.
