Tbh, my anime watch list used to be a total mess for years

Honestly, I just had a random folder of bookmarks and notes in my phone. Last month I finally sat down and made a proper spreadsheet with columns for genre, my rating, and if I finished it. Ngl, I just updated it and saw I've logged 87 shows now, which feels wild. Has anyone else found a system that actually works for keeping track of everything you've watched?

It's funny how many hobbies end up needing a spreadsheet. People start tracking their coffee beans, their running times, or their house plants. The fun part gets buried under a pile of data you feel you have to keep. The trick is finding the simplest system you'll actually use more than twice.

Used to think you needed a fancy app for everything. Then I tried the plain text file method for tracking movies. It's just a list with a quick note. Stuck with it for over a year now because it takes two seconds. The simple stuff is what actually works.

You know, my buddy had the same problem for ages. He tried a few apps but got fed up with them. He ended up using a simple text file on his computer, just listing the title and a one word feeling, like "boring" or "awesome." He says it's the only thing he's stuck with.

Wait, isn't a text file on one computer kind of risky though? Tbh, I'd be worried about losing it if the computer dies. Honestly, my friend did something similar but used a basic notes app that syncs to his phone. That way he can add stuff when he's not at home. It's still just as simple, but it's backed up.
