That panel at MomoCon changed my mind about seasonal anime

I was dead set against watching anything seasonal until that one panel at MomoCon where the host pulled up a 2019 chart showing how every seasonal hit got slept on at first, and now I actually check the new lineup each season because of it.

Seasonal hits got slept on" - yeah but most of them still aren't worth the hype to me.

Yeah, that whole "slept on" thing gets thrown around too much. Had a buddy who swore this one "hidden gem" was amazing, spent thirty bucks on it, turned out to be a mess. Sometimes the hype is quiet for a reason, you know?

I read somewhere that a lot of these "slept on" games just didn't have good marketing budgets. Small studios can't buy the big ads, so their games get passed over unless a streamer picks them up. But even then, a cheap game being "hidden" doesn't mean it's actually good, just cheap.
