The 4K remaster thread that sent me down a 2 day rabbit hole
I thought I'd just check one comment about the color grading on the new Frieren blu-ray release and somehow ended up reading 40 pages of people arguing over whether the original broadcast version had crushed blacks. Took me two full evenings to realize I was basically fact checking strangers' screenshots instead of rewatching the show I actually own. Anyone else ever burn way too much time on a pointless technical debate in here?

Forty pages is nothing compared to the three hours I once spent comparing two different DVD releases of an old British show just to see if the theme song had an extra second of silence. It's funny how we'll fight tooth and nail over a shadow or a hue, but then can't remember what we had for lunch yesterday. These debates are really just a way to feel like we're experts on something, even when the thing itself doesn't matter all that much.
