Tried watching dub instead of sub for a week and it changed my mind on voice acting

I always thought subs were superior until I heard the English cast in Vinland Saga Season 2 and realized the emotion hit just as hard, so now I am wondering if anyone else has switched sides after giving a specific dub a fair shot.

This whole thing is just like when people refuse to try a new restaurant because they're loyal to their old favorite. You get stuck in a habit and miss out on something good. I've seen it with friends who swore off certain music genres until a random song hit them at the right moment. Sometimes you gotta give something a real chance before you decide it's not for you.

Honestly a good way to break that cycle is to set a low bar for trying something new. Give it fifteen minutes or one episode or whatever, if it sucks you bail with zero guilt. Doing that has saved me from plenty of dead ends but also turned me onto stuff I would've sworn I hated.

It reminds me of how people get stuck on one brand of sneakers or one type of coffee and never try anything else. My friend swore off horror movies for years until I made her watch The Others and she realized she was missing out on good stories just because of the genre label. It's the same with dubs, you get this idea in your head that only one way is the right way and you shut down everything else before you even see what it can do. Giving things a real chance, even just a little bit, opens up way more than you expect.
