Unpopular opinion: subs aren't always better, and a guy at Anime Boston 2024 proved it to me
I used to be one of those people who swore subs were always the right call, no exceptions. Then at Anime Boston 2024 I sat in a packed panel room where a fan subber talked about how one show I love had 3 different sub versions floating around, and two of them got a whole joke backwards. That night I rewatched episode 7 of that show dubbed and caught a pun the subs had flattened into nothing. So now I mix it up depending on the show, and honestly some dubs just land better. Does anyone else switch back and forth, or am I the only one who stopped treating this like a team sport?

Why pick sides when you can just enjoy both?
