Warning: a guy at the anime convention in Dallas last year told me his best friend stopped talking to him after a debate about 'Naruto' filler arcs.

He said, 'We argued for an hour about whether the G-8 arc was peak or pointless, and he just ghosted me the next day,' which makes you wonder how many friendships anime opinions have actually ended, right?

Honestly, ghosting over filler is wild but I get it. The G-8 arc is a solid bit of fun, but some people take canon way too seriously. Tbh if a friendship ends over that, it was probably already on thin ice.

Ghosting over filler arcs is like ending a friendship because someone likes pineapple on pizza. The G-8 arc is just pirates doing improv on a boat, it's not that deep. If your bond can't handle a debate about Condoriano's canon status, it was held together with tape anyway.

Yeah, ghosting over anime filler is a new level. My own take on canon is so bad I once argued that a movie-only character was key to the whole plot. Lost that debate hard. Some friendships just aren't built to survive bad opinions, I guess.

My cousin stopped talking to me for two weeks because I said the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime was better than the card game. He actually mailed me a printed copy of the rulebook with a sticky note that said "read this and repent." We laugh about it now but back then I thought we were done for good over some fictional monsters.
