A $12 snake camera from the hardware store just saved me a huge LG error code headache
Had a dryer throwing a tE1 code that no amount of part swapping or continuity checks could crack, so I tried one of those cheap endoscope cameras to peek inside the vent from the drum side. Turns out a kids sock was wedged past the lint filter housing, totally invisible through the regular openings. Has anyone else found a use for those little cameras for diagnosing stuff that's buried in the machine?

Tbh my eyesight's so bad I'd probably find a lost sock instead of the actual problem.

That little camera trick actually works great for checking the heat exchanger fins on LG front loaders too, one crudded up fin can trip a tE1 just like a blocked vent. I snaked mine through the drain pump access and caught a crushed water bottle cap hiding in the recirculation line that was making the machine think it was overheating. Saved me from ordering a $90 thermistor kit when the real issue was just a piece of plastic.
