A customer in Tacoma told me to just bypass the door switch on their washer

I was out on a call for a front loader that wouldn't start. The guy watched me test the door lock and said, 'Why not just wire around it? It's a dumb safety thing.' I explained it's there so the drum doesn't open while spinning. He kept pushing the idea to save him money. Has anyone else had a client ask you to skip a major safety feature?

Consider his point though, it's his machine and he just wants it to run.

Wow, that's a hard no from me. Bypassing that is just asking for a serious injury.

That "save money" mindset is why we have warning labels on everything now.
