Fixing a friend's washer at a BBQ led to the strangest compliment.
Someone said my hands were magic, then asked for my number.

That drawer trick from @evan_grant70 works every time. Got called a "fix-it saint" once, which is just the magic hands thing with more pressure.

It's funny how those little fixes earn such big names. Evan_grant70 is right about the slides, that's the real trick. We just want things to work, and when they do, it feels like a small win.

Isn't that the best kind of compliment? I fixed a friend's kitchen drawer once and her mom called me a "domestic wizard," which felt pretty great.
