Old timer at a parts counter in Gary said never guess on a dryer vent run, and he was dead right
Stopped at a supply house in Gary, Indiana last month for a Whirlpool heating element and the guy behind the counter, 40 plus years in the trade, looked at my ticket and asked how long my vent run was. I said about 20 feet with a couple elbows and he shook his head and said that crushed foil stuff I was using was the real problem, not the element. Swapped the whole run to rigid 4 inch pipe, shortest path I could make it, and the dry time dropped from 90 minutes to about 40. He charged me $38 for pipe and elbows and saved me from replacing a part that was still fine. Curious what you all use on long runs, do you go rigid the whole way or flex at the last foot to make the connection?
