Rant: Customer watched a YouTube video, now I have to fix the aftermath

Had a job last Tuesday where the homeowner tried to fix a fridge ice maker clog using a video they found. They used a hair dryer on the water line, melted the plastic housing around the inlet valve. Took me about 3 hours and $85 in parts to undo it, and they still argued the video said it was safe. I get that people want to save money, but at some point we should charge extra for fixing DIY fails. Anyone else seeing a spike in these calls since the algorithm started pushing appliance repair content?
