Can we talk about how every museum placard says "ritual purposes" when they just don't know?
Watched a curator at the Field Museum in Chicago call a 4,000 year old hand axe a "ceremonial object" when it clearly has wear marks from actual chopping. How many of these labels are just guesses dressed up as facts, and does anyone here know who actually signs off on that wording?

Ritual purposes is just museum speak for we have no clue.
